"Found Objects" by Jennifer Egan, published in The New Yorker

I love this story by Jennifer Egan. The protagonist, Sasha, cannot stop stealing small, seemingly insignificant objects from friends or strangers. Her world narrows and she becomes more and more depleted. The story makes me think of all the ways grief expresses itself.
